During the last month heavy buzz was circulating through the SEO community. Google not to be undone percolated conflicting literi fueling speculation, conjecture among the SEO guru’s some of which could face some conflict of there own with their clients. Imagine, for a moment informing the agency who paid for your expensive lifestyle for the past year that all the linking strategies you developed for them need to be changed Ouch!
Or, be in Rand Fishkins shoes who spent probably a good part of last years resourses developing linkscape “Unparalleled Link Intelligence” indeed unfortunitly their algo was based on the Google Page Rank algo Ouch!

Matt Cutts who by day is the current head of Googles WebSpam team but, our trusted Google evangelist at night masquerads as a trusted SEO informant. Throwing, Google gossip like bits of cheeze to the SEO mice who go scurrying around passing the Google Gods word like it was the holy testment itself. Lets face it our lives as SEO experts depend on the whims of Google the trick now has become how do we interpet between the lines is where the truth lies.
First, Matt rocked our world with he nofollow issue then we heard Google wants to speed up the web hmm… HTML5, CCS3 coming soon. In my previous post Google Grants blog Galen Panger, Google for Non-Profits Team member addressed an audience of non-profits about the virtue of adopting SEO funamentals.
More links from quality sources that you have pointing toward your well crafted content gives you more page rank to distribute to your sites pages.
Kind of conflicting since they took away our tool of choice for distributing page rank the nofollow tag well back to cloaking urls with javascript…well maybe Google will be able to read that so some other method.
Yet another inconsistency arose I read a post from Joost de Valk about CSS image replacement I too am a big fan for all the reasons Joost suggests Matt Cutts doing another about turn stated Google is no longer in favor with this particular method..back to providing <alt> text.
Where is the cat leading the mice? Here is my take reading between the lines Don’t make any radical changes to your site but do not go forward with any dynamic linking practises at least not try to push page rank to your 3rd tier product pages until the dust settles a bit.
Google in its haste to make the web a little faster is pushing developers to become early adopters of more unified markup ..semantic web 3.0 . Your thoughts appreciated.
